Ask me anything

Lupus

Constant fatigue, the headaches abound.

General discomfort seems to know where I’m found.

The flaming within, the pain in my chest;

I find myself reeling, cannot catch my breath.

I look in the mirror and then start to cry.

I hate what I see, this fake butterfly.

Please try not to look at this rash on my skin;

Look a little deeper at the person within.

I am still human, no different than you.

I just suffer more than you’ll ever go through.

We all stand together; don’t matter how your group us.

We’ll overcome this foe, the enemy called Lupus.

Numbness, tingling, seizures and strokes;

Amidst all this no complaints have I spoke.

Coughing and vomiting, abnormal heartbeats;

I’m wide awake while you’re fast asleep.

On top of it all is the personality change;

Please recall this if ever I cause you pain.

Lupus is strong but Jehovah is stronger.

I know in my heart it won’t last much longer.

Soon no person will say “I am sick”;

Never again will I suffer like this.

I long for that day but until it arrives

I will be thankful, I will survive.
